The DIPF | Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education contributes to overcoming challenges in the education system with empirical research, digital infrastructure and knowledge transfer. At its locations in Frankfurt am Main and Berlin, the DIPF develops and documents educational knowledge and thus supports science, politics, and practice.
The Educational Technology Group (http://edutec.science/) is looking for two student assistants (HiWI) to start as soon as possible. The work is part of the HyTea project http://www.hytea.de/, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
One student assistant (Hiwi)
from 20 to 40 hours per month for 6 months
The office is in Frankfurt am Main, near the Westend Campus. All activities can be carried out via remote working, provided a suitable workstation with Internet access is available.
Your tasks
-support the design and development of the graphical user interface of an educational game for presentation training
-develop software modules for the existing codebase
-maintain and version the code in the project's code repository
-write software documentation and reports
-read related papers and similar research to investigate best practices
Requirements
-Programming skills in JavaScript, HTML5
-Ideally, having experience developing APIs, web client-server RESTful architectures and Python
-Ideally, having experience in UI / UX design
-Enrollment at a German university, preferably in a computer science program
-Independent work and commitment
-Good knowledge of written English
We offer a pleasant working atmosphere, flexible working hours, a salary of €13 per hour for bachelor students and €14 per hour for students with a bachelor's degree, insights into empirical, scientific work in an interdisciplinary team (including professors and doctoral students), and the opportunity to extend your contract.
